Motorola Moto X (1st Gen.) finally finally getting Android lollipop 5.1

Moto X getting Android 5.1 to the unlocked versions in US and Brazil , Moto X units on Rogers in Canada getting the same update as well . David Schuster the software product manager of Motorola confirms through Google + .

The update will upgrade Moto X to Android Lollipop 5.1 from Android Kitkat 4.4 . As usual updates are in batches and will take time to reach all users . The material design update with notification enhancement like heads up notification adn Lockscreen notification. The update will change the overhaul the look of Android in 5.1 with Quick Wi-Fi and bluetooth settings , New recent apps list and check the full changelog from here.

INSTRUCTIONS

For a successful installation, we recommend installing this update when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
If you have received a notification message for this update:
Select “Yes, I’m in”.
After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated with 222.21.15
If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:

Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
Select “About phone”.
Select “System updates”.
Select “Yes, I’m in”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated to 222.21.15 .
